Next-gen biotics for gut performance and resilience

Cerryx develops CER-X04, a dual-strain probiotic that supports gut function and growth performance in poultry, built as a platform for other livestock.

The challenge

Feed is one of the largest costs in livestock production. At the same time, producers are asked to use fewer antibiotics and cut emissions.

Gut health connects all three. An animal that makes good use of its feed grows better, needs fewer interventions and leaves less behind. That is where we focus our research.

CER-X04 combines two probiotic strains that work in the gut of the animal. Our research looks at how the combination supports the gut lining and helps animals turn feed into growth.

We have studied CER-X04 in poultry, calves and mice, and in rumen fluid in the lab. A scientific publication is in preparation. We share study results with partners under a confidentiality agreement.

Two strains
Streptococcus thermophilus and Pediococcus acidilactici, combined in one probiotic.
Non-GMO
Naturally occurring strains, fermented in our own lab.
Dry powder
For use in feed or dispersed in drinking water on the farm.
One platform
Developed for poultry first, with cattle and companion animals in our pipeline.

Product trials

Test CER-X04 in your operation

Run a trial with CER-X04 in your own flocks, with a protocol we design together and results you can compare against your current programme.

Co-development

Develop formulations together

Work with our R&D team on species- or market-specific formulations, dosing and application routes, from the lab to the farm.

Contract development

Use our lab for your projects

Our Bristol lab takes on microbial R&D for partners, from strain work and fermentation to small-batch production.

Efficacy studies

Measure what an additive does

We design and run studies that assess the effect of probiotics and feed additives, with a focus on livestock.

Distribution

Bring Cerryx to your markets

Animal health and feed companies can partner with us on distribution and licensing of Cerryx products.

Our labs

Microbial R&D, fermentation and small-batch production at Science Creates OMX in Bristol, and poultry development at the ICO in Osnabrück. This is where CER-X04 is developed and where we run projects with partners.

Team

Science, venture capital and livestock experience in one team, supported by advisors from the poultry industry, pharma and biotech.

Where we work

Investors

We welcome conversations with investors who share our focus on animal health and more sustainable livestock production.
